Director’s Circle members, Sotheby’s, kindly invite the Samuel Courtauld Society to attend a special breakfast view of their Modern British sale. As artists from the Modern British period are elevated to new international audiences, Sotheby’s have seen continued impressive results for works by Ben Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Patrick Heron and William Scott. November’s sale of Modern and Post-War British Art offers a fascinating collection of exciting and fresh-to- market works, including rare early sculptures by Lynn Chadwick and William Turnbull (whose Lotus Totem set a new record for the artist at auction earlier this year), as well as important paintings by the quintessentially British artists Edward Burra, Stanley Spencer and William Roberts.
