Insights Into Art History is a series of one-day workshops especially designed for 16-19 year olds to explore and investigate The Courtauld Gallery collection. Each day has an exciting focus and a new subject to discover!

The artist Paul Cezanne created unique architectural spaces that actively draw us into his paintings and radically changed the way we now think about art. How do contemporary artists use perspective in unusual ways today? This workshop will explore how artists in The Courtauld Collection have constructed space over the past 500 years. You will work with contemporary artist Alexandra Blum and art historian Helen Higgins to discover how to draw the viewer into your work by experimenting with unusual perspectives and examining the relationship between painting, drawing and actual space.
