East Anglia Alumni Group Event

Benjamin Britten’s Red House Tour

Sat 18 Sep, 2021

This event will allow us to join an exclusive curator-led tour of Benjamin Britten’s Red House, including a visit to Britten’s studio, the library, an exhibition about Britten’s work and of the lovely gardens surrounding the property, followed by drinks in Aldeburgh. The house is where Britten, composer and central figure of 20th-century British classical music, and tenor Sir Peter Pears lived from 1957: it is preserved as it was with their possessions and many remarkable paintings, mostly twentieth century.  This visit will take place on Saturday 17 September 2016 at 14.00.

Please note that due to the special and exclusive nature of the event, the capacity for this tour is 8 guests, places will be assigned on a first-come-first served basis.

The cost of the tour will be £7.50 per person. The visit to the Red House will be followed by celebratory drinks, which will be arranged at the East Coast Café, 152 Aldeburgh High Street, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, IP15 5AQ at 16.15.

Should you like to attend, please RSVP to alumni@courtauld.ac.uk.

We hope you will be able to join us on such a special occasion!
