Samuel Courtauld Society: Vauxhall Voices

Wed 23 Jun, 2021

A walking tour in Vauxhall to see work by some of the most intriguing contemporary artists practising today.  Meeting at Kennington station, we will walk 10 minutes to Corvi-Mora to see the work of British artist Roger Hiorns, whose projects include the burial of an aeroplane and a council flat lined with specially grown copper sulphate crystals. This will be followed by a visit to greengrassi to see work by Pae White, a Los Angeles based artist known for her beautiful site-specific installations. We will then walk for another 10 minutes to Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery for a tour led by the curator followed by a private drinks reception. Members are welcome to stay for dinner in Pharmacy 2 which will be open exclusively for The Courtauld.
