We are delighted that the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (OAE) will be joining us to bring together a unique evening of music and art from our prints and drawings collection. Visit our Objects Room to view a selection of prints curated exclusively for Friends and Patrons of OAE by The Courtauld’s Curator of Drawings, Ketty Gottardo (PhD2013) with an associated talk by writer, curator and arts educator Charlotte De Mille (PhD2009).

An orchestral recital led by Margaret Faultless will follow with drinks and nibbles served at the beginning and end of this exclusive evening.

The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment is a British period instrument orchestra founded in 1986. The OAE is a resident orchestra of the Southbank Centre, London, associate orchestra at Glyndebourne Festival Opera and has its headquarters at Kings Place.  The leadership is rotated between three musicians: Matthew Truscott, Kati Debretzeni and Margaret Faultless, who will be playing for us on the night with three other members of the orchestra.

Ketty Gottardo, Martin Halusa Curator of Drawings, will curate the specially selected drawings from our collection.

Charlotte De Mille, curator, writer, lecturer and arts educator; specialist in European modernism, and intersections of art, music and philosophy, will tell us more about the selected drawings.
