A do-it-yourself walk with the Godfather

Part 1: Get London moving!

In an idle moment I typed their names and the word London into Google on the Internet, and was delighted to come up with the following information.

Your guide to the best Exhibitions in the City. London is full of art, there is so much just trying to decide what you see can leave you exhausted. (sic) SIMPLY ART is the answer. The latest in a series of free SIMPLY Guides helping you get the best out of the Capital. It presents suggestions for visits in 30 venues featuring Pre-Raphaelites to Post-Modern art, complete with directions how to get there by bus or tube.... London is and has been of course home to some of the world’s greatest artists, Tuner, Monet and Canaletto among them. The guide will let you trace their footsteps, visiting their homes and taking in their settings of come of their most famous paintings. There are also some suggestions on where to buy art, or the materials to create it.

Good. A new initiative by the Courtauld? Not at all. "The guide is free from Tube stations or by calling 0207 371 0247."

Even better, it was signed "Mayor of London . Get London moving."

A link to the webpage describing the leaflet is given here

Can I get hold of the promised leaflet? Can I not! No Tube Station has ever heard of it. The given telephone number is an answering machine which does not reply to the many messages I have left on it. An email to the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden has been acknowledged, but no leaflet or information has been forthcoming.
